Since then, it has weakened substantially to close at a dollar parity of around 60 yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sketharaman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/rs02.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2587\" title=\"rs02\" src=\"http:\/\/sketharaman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/rs02-226x300.jpg\" alt=\"rs02\" width=\"226\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sketharaman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/rs02-226x300.jpg 226w, https:\/\/sketharaman.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/rs02.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, I won&#8217;t blame Ajit Ninan for his new interpretation of the rupee symbol in a recent cartoon. Even if Dr. D Udaya Kumar of IIT Bombay, who designed the symbol in 2010, hadn&#8217;t quite seen it coming.
